In 2020, filmmakers Arthur Jones & Giorgio Angelini came on the show to talk about their Sundance-award-winning documentary Feels Good Man, which traced the transformation of Pepe the Frog and the trials of the original Pepe’s creator, Matt Furie. Arthur and Giorgio return on this episode to discuss their new work, released this month on Netflix, The Antisocial Network: From Memes to Mayhem. In short, the film charts 4chan’s evolution from its Japanese predecessor to the logic of devirtualization that underpinned the events at the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
