Film01: Histoire(s) de l’internet is a work of cinema from writer Angelicism01, whose often scathing online presence played a central role in the so-called vibe shift of 2021. Running 3+ hours, Film01 premiered this past June in NYC at Anthology Film Archives. It is composed entirely of other people’s footage—some submitted, most scraped from the internet—to tell a story of imminent extinction and an infinite drive to transmit oneself through the network. It also folds in its own audience, incorporating, with each new cut, the reception and mediation of the previous. Film01 has now been screened 5 times in as many iterations, most recently at Berlin’s Babylon Kino in October. On this episode, New Models speaks to Film01’s producer, Lola Jusidman and co-producer, Mateo Demarigny.
