NM Dispatch: America Diaries 12.2023

The NM practice of penning travel monologues continues with this entry by Lil Internet, who reflects, through the fog of COVID, on our Christmastime visit to the States. Written in real-time as he and Carly travelled with an infant from Berlin to Virginia Beach and then northern Baltimore County, the piece unfolds across a particularly American mix of airport hotels, Amtrak stations, CVS aisles, and a hospital ER, with the ever-present signal of TV transmitting (and motion-smoothing) the national zeitgeist.
